Random Terrorism Links

I know there was some concern over just what the government can view as far as our searching the internet, well here's some insight as far as that. Here's also some new technology used to prevent terrorist attacks in airports through new methods of X-Ray technology. Finally, here's talk about a manual on torture. This is from howstuffworks.com which will explain plenty of other ideas that might be of interest relative to terrorism as well.

Concerns about the government tracking our internet usage etc. in the War on Terror seem ridiculous to me...with a population of over 300 million people visiting tons of different sites. Just thinking about it makes me wonder about grave worries of the government watching.

However, giving the government too much power can be dangerous--but if wiretapping and tracking internet activity helps to stop terrorist attacks then I don't feel great anxiety about it.

All I can say is that lobster XRAY article was just fascinating. Imagine being able to see into a building safely, or cargo containers or whatever- even seeing termites in the wall! What a cool idea. Makes me proud to be an American lol.

As for the government internet tracking thing- honestly, I agree with Luke in that it doesn't sound like a big deal to me. The only way they could possibly use that much information (and as the article points out, it would not be very specific information if used) would be to use a computer to correlate the data to see if any one computer IP address is looking at questionable sites on a more-then-frequent basis. And chances are, if a terrorist has ANY brains, they will not be using a personal computer anyway. So, thank you for putting that fear to rest that I have been looking too much at the LTTE site!

Having eaten many lobsters in my time I have developed a newfound respect for them. Perhaps we shouldn't call Superman's power x-ray vision, but lobster vision. Perhaps not quite so catchy. At any rate, I believe this technology will enhance our ability to see into ladies' purses and what not, but I also think the expense of the new procedure and it's new in-depthness might actually slow the process down as they upgrade and train people to use the equipment.
